Production Diary and Pre-Production

Production Diary

5/2/2013
So far in the group we have thought of an idea, wrote a synopsis and come up with a shot list. We discussed our idea in the group and tried to picture the advert while we wrote out a shot list. We then produced a questionnaire to find out information about the audience, and we created some graphs to clearly see the results. We also discussed any locations that we could use to film in.
As of today, two of us worked on the storyboards and discussed each shot which is now nearly completed, while another two worked on the risk assessment, trying to think of potential hazards during filming.

6/2/2013
Today, me and Savannah went to the location we would like to film at for the majority of the scenes for our advert. We managed to talk with the owner of the house to make sure that we have permission to use the area and film in the area, which was successful.
We also started making sure that if there are any actors for our film under 16 that they filled out the talent releases so that we don't get in trouble.

7/2/2013
Today we finished off the storyboard, and I personally worked on changing around the scenes as the idea for our advert slightly changed. I talked with the group and made sure that we all understood the changes. We made sure that we had completed all the paperwork needed also, which we still need to scan in.

13/2/2013
Today we traveled to Sonia's house (our location) to film the majority of our advert. We managed to film everything we needed successfully, although we did have some trouble with the lighting as it was too bright. However, this problem was quickly resolved.
We filmed all the scenes up to the office scene, which we were planning to film during our time at Sonia's house, but we decided to film this at college instead tomorrow as we didn't have enough time today.

14/2/2013
We continued more with filming today, however we could not return to the house so we went for our back up plan, and used Sonia's office to film in college. We filmed all the montage and office scenes and then uploaded them to the Macs.
Overall, in my opinion, all the filming went successfully and we also tried to film more than we needed so that we will have extra footage if we need it.

Today, we next started to edit and put the clips together in the order we want on Premiere Pro, and we will continue to edit next lesson.

26/2/2013
Today we continued with editing and edited a lot of our footage on Premiere Pro. We managed to put all the clips we wanted together and also started adding any transitions or editing the brightness/contrast of any clips to improve the quality and continuity of the advert. We have so far had no problems.

27/2/2013
Today, we continued with editing and also started adding sound to our advert. We used Garageband and after searching through a lot of the music we decided on a soundtrack to use, which fits with our advert well. We also took the sound from the montage scenes and made the sound louder on each of them, so you could hear this better over the music.
We completed the editing of the advert and we will soon export it to be uploaded to youtube.
