Evaluation
Our first task was to make a short film sequence. We had to follow certain shots when creating the film, as these then linked together to result in the final film short.
Firstly, what I think went smoothly during the filming of our video was how the lighting stayed consistent throughout, as it was natural, ambient lighting and nothing had to be adjusted in editing. Also, I felt that the editing went smoothly as there were no problems with editing the videos together on the timeline, and overall this made the majority of the film run and look smooth. I thought that the technical aspects of the film also went well, as for example we stayed within the 180 degree rule and there were no faults with the overall lighting or quality. I thought that the dialogue sound could have been made louder in editing, as it was hard to hear at points from the original footage. However, I thought that the diegetic, synchronous sound such as the door slamming and the footsteps were clear, and the overall sound quality was good. I also felt that the music tracks at the beginning and end were well chosen and suited the genre of the film. I think that the beginning shots of the film were my favourite aspect, as between the first and second shots the transition flowed well, as this was a match on action shot.
I also thought that the shot reverse shot was filmed well, as this produced realism and continuity. However, I felt that some of the other shots could have been improved, such as the establishing shot of the two people shaking hands.

This is because we cannot see the full person on the left, and this is an issue because this is not a proper medium shot and this also means that the facial expression cannot be seen by the audience, so we do not see the emotion or body language from the actor. I also felt that the first close-up shot could have been improved, as I thought that the transition between that shot and the one before and after it could have been smoother.
Therefore, if we were to undertake the task again, I think we should plan our shots more efficiently and pay more attention to what is being filmed, and also we should make sure that we film shots more than once in case there are faults. I also think that we should have experimented with a range of different angles and possibly improved the eye level/straight on shots. I also think we should have experimented with higher and lower angles. This could have been to possibly show the audience, for example, how the debt collector was more powerful. For the editing, I felt that it was overall done well but the credits could have been improved, possibly by making them run slower as I thought they may have been hard to read for the audience.

Overall, I thought that our film was filmed well but there were still certain aspects that could be improved, especially in the filming and the types of shots.

Excellent work Hannah and a really good attempt to build in discussion of many of the technical elements we have been exploring. You could perhaps include (and discuss) more stills to make this a more visual analysis and I don't like the centre justified text. But otherwise I am VERY impressed. Well done.
